A recent OECD paper highlights the need for a 𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞-𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠. It recommends strengthening the capacity of school staff, combining universal prevention with targeted support for students who need it most, regularly monitoring bullying, and evaluating whether interventions are effective.

This matters because bullying affects more than the students directly involved. It can influence the sense of safety, trust and belonging across the whole school community.

Aligned with this vision, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 is working to support safer and more inclusive school environments. Through a gamified app, an Educator’s Toolkit and a Parents’ Guide, the project aims to help children aged 8-12 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲, 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭-𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
